Ghana forward Felix Afena-Gyan has promised to return stronger in the upcoming season after completing his loan spell with Turkish side Amedspor, where he played a key role in helping the club achieve promotion.
The 23-year-old striker spent the entire 2025/26 campaign with Amedspor and contributed significantly to their successful push into the Turkish Super Lig.
With his loan agreement now expired, Afena-Gyan is set to return to parent club Cremonese as he looks to build on a positive season and continue his development at the highest level.
During his time in Turkey, the former AS Roma attacker featured in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing six assists for Amedspor.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Afena-Gyan assured supporters in Ghana that they can expect an improved version of him when the new season begins.
“Ghanaians should expect more from me in the new season because that’s the job I have to do,” he said.
Afena-Gyan first gained international attention during his breakthrough at Roma, where he announced himself on the European stage with a memorable match-winning brace against Genoa in Serie A under former manager José Mourinho.
That performance earned him widespread praise and positioned him as one of Ghana’s most promising young attacking talents.
However, his progress was later affected by injuries, limited playing opportunities and strong competition for places, leading to a period of rebuilding away from the spotlight.
His spell at Amedspor provided an opportunity to regain confidence and regular playing time, with his contributions helping the club secure promotion to Turkey’s top division.
The striker will now focus on impressing at Cremonese and proving that he can still become an important figure for both club and country.
With Ghana preparing for future international assignments, Afena-Gyan will be hoping his improved form can strengthen his chances of earning a consistent place in the Black Stars setup.
