In the team’s 3-2 victory over South Korea, Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew emphasized the need of having seasoned players on the field.
After losing 2-3 to Portugal in its opening match, Ghana defeated South Korea to increase its prospects of moving on to the Round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Because of his errant touch, which directly contributed to Portugal’s third goal, which was scored by Rafael Leao, Jordan Ayew received harsh criticism for his performance in the defeat to Portugal.
The younger Ayew on the team stressed the importance of having seasoned players like him on the roster after recording an assist and giving a performance befitting of Man of the Match in the crucial victory over South Korea.
“In every job and in everything you do in this world, experience is key and obviously we have great young talents and great players as well…in the two games we showed why we are important to the team and we will keep on pushing and keep on speaking to the young ones to come around with us to buy into our ideas” he stated.
Black Stars head into the final Group H against Uruguay on Friday, December 2 at 15:00 GMT.
