Former Ghana international Joseph Attamah has completed a move to Turkish First League outfit Sariyerspor, opening a fresh chapter in his career after leaving newly promoted side Çorum FK.
The experienced 32-year-old defender has signed a deal with Sariyerspor as the ambitious club strengthens its squad in pursuit of promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.
Attamah arrives with a wealth of experience in Turkish football, having enjoyed successful spells with clubs including Istanbul Başakşehir, Adana Demirspor, Kayserispor, and most recently Çorum FK, where he played a key role in helping the club earn promotion.
His arrival is regarded as a major coup for Sariyerspor, with the club banking on his leadership, defensive solidity and extensive knowledge of Turkish football to guide their promotion challenge.
Confirming the signing, the club welcomed the Ghanaian on its official social media platforms.
“We welcome Joseph Attamah to Sarıyer. The experienced defender has represented some of Turkey’s biggest clubs and the Ghana national team throughout his career. We wish him a successful season in our navy-blue and white colours. Welcome to the family.”
Attamah also shared his excitement after sealing the transfer, promising to give everything to help the club achieve its ambitions.
“Hello Sariyer fans, I am very happy to join the club. I want to thank the president, the management and all the supporters for believing in me. I know this season will be challenging, but together with my teammates and the coaching staff, we will work hard to put this club where it belongs. I believe we can become champions at the end of the season.”
The former Ghana U-20 star has built an impressive career in Turkey, making 317 appearances across the country’s top two divisions while establishing himself as one of the most consistent foreign defenders in the league.
At international level, Attamah has earned seven caps for the Black Stars after progressing through Ghana’s youth national teams, where he captained the Black Satellites.
He has already linked up with his new teammates for pre-season as Sariyerspor intensify preparations for the 2026/27 campaign, with promotion to the Super Lig firmly set as the club’s primary objective.
