At the conclusion of the 2022/23 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, relegation has befallen two clubs from both the Northern and Southern Zones, as they finished in the bottom two positions.
In the Northern Zone, Fabulous Ladies, one of the league’s oldest contenders, unfortunately faced relegation, ending their season in 9th place with 13 points.
Joining them in the lower tier league is Candy Soccer Academy, a team that qualified from the lower tier only last season but couldn’t withstand the competition in the Zone. They accumulated 11 points and finished at the bottom of the table.
Meanwhile, in the Southern Zone, Thunder Queens fought valiantly until the final day, but their efforts were not enough to avoid relegation. They concluded the season with 14 points.
The other team from the Southern Zone facing relegation is Ridge City Women’s FC, who made their debut in the elite league after qualifying from the Greater Accra Region. Unfortunately, they struggled to secure a single win throughout the season, managing only 3 draws and suffering 15 defeats.
The attached file provides further confirmation of the list of relegated clubs in the last two seasons.
