Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer, Fatau Dauda, has praised the three goalkeepers who were called up for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in Matchday 5 and 6.
Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Jojo Wollacott, and Benjamin Asare were selected for the crucial fixtures, but it was Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare who got the nod over the regulars, starting in both games.
Following Ghana’s commanding 5-0 victory over Chad and 3-0 win against Madagascar, Dauda took to social media to commend the goalkeepers for their dedication and teamwork.
“You guys were amazing in supporting each other. Keep it up, and let’s move forward… I wish you all the best in your remaining games this season,” he wrote.
Asare’s outstanding displays saw him keep two clean sheets, solidifying his place as Otto Addo’s new first-choice goalkeeper.
The Black Stars will regroup in June for a four-nation tournament before resuming their qualifiers in September, where they will face Chad and Mali in Matchday 7 and 8.
