Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, believes the Black Stars will need an element of luck to successfully navigate their remaining fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The four-time African champions have rekindled their hopes of securing a spot at the tournament, which will be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, following dominant performances in their recent games. Ghana thrashed Chad 5-0 before securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Madagascar in Matchday 5 and 6 of the qualifiers.
Despite their impressive form, Adams insists that luck will play a crucial role as the team aims to maintain their momentum and qualify for the Mundial.
“We will need luck to win the rest of our games as the team hopes to win the rest of the qualifying games,” he told Asempa FM.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points and will resume their qualification campaign in September, facing Chad and Mali in Matchday 7 and 8. They will then conclude their qualifiers against Central African Republic and Comoros as they push for a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
