German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg Sporting Director Stefan Reuter has expressed his excitement following the signing of Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer.
According to him, the club is pleased to sign the young defender after a lot of clubs showed interest in his signature but still decided to join them.
The 23 year old defender has signed a 4-year contract until June 2027 after leaving newly promoted team SV Darmstadt 98 at the end of the season.
He was a consistent performer for the Blues as they won the 2022-23 Germany Bundesliga 2 Title to gain promotion to the top-flight league for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian defender played 24 games in the Bundesliga 2 and scored four goals with one assist to his name leading to his move to FC Augsburg.
“We’re proud that we have been able to bring Patric Pfeiffer to FCA despite significant interest from other clubs,” stated Stefan Reuter, FCA’s sporting director.
He further added, “We’re getting one of the best defenders in the second division this season, someone who can help us achieve our goals in the coming years with his pace, tackling, and aerial ability.”
Reuter’s confidence in Pfeiffer’s abilities underscores the club’s belief that the defender will be a valuable asset to their squad.
