The Austrian powerhouse on Thursday 29th August, 2024, announced the signing of the Ghanaian promising striker from Norway’s Sogndal IL, until 30 June 2029.
The 18-year-old attacker moved to Norway in March this year, and has scored nine goals as well as providing seven assists in 22 matches for Sognal IL.
Sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner, was full of excitement after the club’s capture of the Ghanaian Nationality.
“We were able to sign a very exciting young player in Edmund Baidoo, who has already impressed in first-team football despite his young age. He has a good combination of speed and technique. He was involved in lots of goals at his former club, and we are certain that he can show this attribute for us too. We are looking forward to having Edmund, but will give him all the time he needs to settle in.”
Speaking after signing the deal, Baidoo also said: “I am really excited – it’s a dream come true for me. I know FC Red Bull Salzburg and that the club has developed lots of good players over the years. I want to be another one of those that can help the club succeed on its path. I will work had and do everything for that.”
