Former Ghana international Felix Aboagye expresses confidence in the Black Stars’ prospects for success in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, set to take place in Ivory Coast next year.
Ghana, a four-time African champion, last secured the prestigious title in 1982 in Libya, enduring a lengthy trophy drought since then.
Drawn into Group B for AFCON alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique, Aboagye remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances.
Responding to a question about Ghana and Egypt’s potential to win the AFCON 2023 title, the former Al Ahly star affirmed, “Yes, Egypt and Ghana are capable of winning the tournament. Currently, Ghana may not be performing well, but in the dynamic atmosphere and competitive spirit of the tournament, everything can change. Egypt possesses a very strong team and stands a solid chance of winning the tournament.”
The AFCON 2023 is slated to kick off on January 13, 2024, with the final scheduled for February 11, 2024.
