The World’s Football Governing body’s tribunal has ruled in favor of the former head coach of the Indomitable Lions, Antonio Conçeiçao, who was dismissed in February 2022, shortly after the 2021 African Cup of Nations. On February 28, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils announced that he was terminating the contract of the Portuguese. He would shortly appoint the former captain of the Senior national football team, Rigobert Song Bahanag, to replace Antonio. But the Portuguese who had a year more on his contract dragged Fecafoot to FIFA tribunal, demanding reparation. Antonio is not eh only one having a court case concerning Fecafoot. According to a decision made public on July 20, 2022, the FIFA tribunal asked Fecafoot to pay the sums of 1,352 250 euros as net compensation for breach of contract without just cause, 213, 750 as outstanding remuneration and 37, 500 as a net outstanding bonus payment. This amounts to more than 1.7 million euros, equivalent to about FCFA 1,114 690,000. These payments are being counted from March 2022. The Cameroon Football Federation has 45 days to appeal against this ruling. Source: cameroonnewsagency
