FIFA has assembled a robust delegation for the upcoming 2023 Elective Congress of the Ghana Football Association, scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Tamale.
This FIFA Delegation consists of:
- Gelson Fernandes – Director, FIFA Member Associations Africa.
- Silmara Sousa – Development Program Coordinator, FIFA Member Associations Africa.
- Ahmed Harraz – Senior MA Governance Services Manager, FIFA MA Governance.
The FIFA Delegation has been actively supporting the GFA Elections Committee in its preparations for the congress. During their stay in Ghana, they will hold final discussions and engagements with the GFA Elections Committee before the Congress.
It’s worth highlighting that when an association emerges from a normalization period, the FIFA Member Association Division and FIFA MA Governance collaborate with the local structures to ensure the association’s progress and development while preventing a return to FIFA sanctions.
Additionally, FIFA Executive Council Member Amaju Melvin Pinnick is expected to arrive in Ghana in the coming week as part of the preparations for the elective Congress of the Ghana Football Association, which will be held in the Northern Regional capital of Tamale.
Furthermore, CAF and WAFU B have expressed their intentions to send dignitaries to support and ensure the success of the GFA Congress on October 5, 2023.
