Group C

New Caledonia once again suffered humiliating results in the ongoing U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. Brazil, the defending champions secured their first win of the competition with a 9-0 thrashing of New Caledonia.

17-year-old Fluminense forward Kaua Elias Nogueira scored a hattrick with the goals coming on the 46th, 86th and 90+4 minutes.

Rayan Vitor scored two goals with Vito Reis, Joao Victor,  Estavao, and Luighi scoring one each.

New Caledonia has conceded 19 goals in the two games they have played. Their last game will be against Iran as their chances of making it to the next stage is almost dead.

England won in dramatic style in the 90th minute with Joe Ndala scoring from a tight angle against Iran. The 2-1 victory ensures England qualify for the knockout stage.

Abofalzi Zamani scored the opener for Iran in the 31st minute with Russel-Denny Reiss-Alexander equalising in the 63rd minute for England. Joel Ndala,  who was a constant menace for the Iranians grabbed the winner in the 90th minute.

Iran slips to third in the table with 3 points just like Brazil but Brazil are in second after England due to a superior score difference over Iran.

Group D

African U-17 champions Senegal this morning destroyed Poland by 4-1 with Idrissa Gueye scoring a hattrick for the West Africans.

Gueye opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Dominik Szalai scored an own goal in the 30th minute making it 2-0. Iddrisa Gueye scored in the 52nd and 69th minute to make the day a proper one for the Senegalese. Marcel Regula’s 66th-minute strike was a mere consolation for the Poles.

Senegal has progressed to the knock-out stage of the competition having won their 2 games and scoring 6 goals with 2 conceded.

Argentina won against Japan 3-1 in the other game of the group with goals from Claudio Echeveri, Valentino Acuna and  Augustine Ruberto while Rento Takaoka scored the consolation goal for Japan.

Argentina moves to second on the table with superior goal difference over Japan with both teams having 3 points.

Senegal tops the group with 6 points while Poland is bottom without a point.
