Group E

Two quick goals on the stroke of halftime from Keyrol Figueroa and Nimfasha Berchimas on the 45th and 45+6 minutes respectively gave the USA a commanding lead. A consolation in the 89th minute from Jack Diarra was nothing to grab the Burkanebes anything significant.

The USA has qualified for the next stage whilst Burkina Faso is on the brink of elimination after two successive defeats

Mathis Amougou’s 2nd-minute strike was enough for France to beat South Korea 1-0. France has also qualified for the knockout stage of the competition as South Korea has a slim chance of progressing to the knockout stage with back-to-back defeats.

Group F

Mexico and Venezuela played an entertaining 2-2 draw in the early kick-off of Group F fixtures. Cichero and Profeta were on target for Venezuela as Carillo and Ortiz scored for Mexico.

Germany has qualified for the knockout stage after a 3-1 win over New Zealand. Brunner, Moerstedt and Yalcinka scored the goals for Germany. Watson’s 91st-minute penalty was a mere consolation for New Zealand.

Tomorrows fixtures

Group A

Morocco v Indonesia (12 pm)
Ecuador v Panama (12 pm)

Group B

Canada v Mali (9 am)
Uzbekistan v Spain (9am)
