Spain qualified for their eighth quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Japan in Surakarta.

An opening goal in the 8th minute from Quim Junyet Casanova put the Spaniards ahead with Gaku Nawata levelling the scores 1-1 in the 40th minute for Japan.

Barcelona’s highly rated 17-year-old forward, Marc Guiu’s sumptuous finish in the 74th minute proved to be the winner as the Japanese couldn’t equalise.

Japan fell for 4th consecutive time in the Round of 16th phase at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
