Nazzim Azaouzi’s 94-minute goal for Morocco cancelled Esmaeil Gholizadeh’s 72nd-minute opener for Iran.
A game that failed to produce much excitement in the first half changed soon after the commencement of the second half. Two goals in the second half with Iran, unfortunately conceding a very late goal which sent the game into penalties.
No extra 30 minutes in this competition so when the game ended in a draw, the boys went straight to penalties with Morocco scoring all four of their penalties with Iran scoring one and missing two.
Moroccan goalkeeper, Taha Benrhozil was the hero of the day as he showed a wonderful mentality to force the Iranians to panic.
Morocco will play against Mali in the quarter-finals.
