Ghana head coach Otto Addo announced a 27-man squad on Monday for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying play off double – header against Nigeria.
The first leg takes place on Friday March 25th at the Babayara sports stadium with the second leg happening in Abuja four days later.
We take a look at some notable names missing from the latest Black Stars selection.
1.Andre Ayew
The Ghana skipper was sent off in the Comoros 3 Ghana 2 game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Ayew has scored 18 goals in 24 games this season for Al – Sadd SC but the Black Stars will not benefit from his service against the Super Eagles.
2.Mubarak Wakaso
The 31-year old China-based midfielder was part of the Ghana team at the 2021 AFCON but failed to make a single appearance at the competition.
It is not surprising that he is not part of Otto Addo’s selection to take on Nigeria.
3.Jontathan Mensah
4.Baba Rahman
5.Kamaldeen Sulemana
The Stade Rennais winger has missed the last seven games of his club due to a back injury.
