Ghanaian talented midfielder Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu has lauded his team’s performance in their important 2-1 win against Rotterdam United in the English EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian international who is the captain of the club was instrumental as he controlled the midfield to ensure his side’s progress to the next phase of the competition.
Charlie Adam’s side advanced to the next round of the competition after defeating the Sky Bet League One club.
Fleetwood Town had to make a first-half comeback after going one goal down just over a minute in, with a brace from Ryan Graydon in the first half set Town on their way, with superb resilience, grit and determination to ensure advancement to the next round.
Sarpong, 24, who lasted the entire duration of the game, took to social media (X) to salute his teammates’ momentum in their important victory on the night.
The former Charlton Athletic player has played all three league games so far this season for Fleetwood Town and also made two appearances in the EFL League Cup.
