Legal practitioner Moses Foh-Amoaning has questioned the ability of Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, insisting he is not fit to handle Ghana’s senior national football team.
Addo, 48, who was reappointed in March 2024, has come under intense scrutiny following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
To strengthen the team’s technical department, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) recently appointed experienced German coach and former AFCON winner Winfried Schäfer as a technical advisor.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM after Ghana’s unconvincing World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali, Foh-Amoaning said:
“Otto Addo is not fit for the Black Stars job. He is a scout coach, learning on the job like doing National Service. The Ghana Football Association knows this, and that is the reason why they have brought in Winfried Schäfer to improve the technical team’s quality.”
Despite the criticism, Ghana remain top of Group I with 19 points and are aiming to seal a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they face the Central African Republic and Comoros in the crucial October qualifiers.
