Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal has successfully completed the signing of Mavis Owusu, the captain of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
Owusu, a defender for the Ghanaian club, has joined the female team of Al Hilal FC in Saudi Arabia and is expected to play a significant role for her new side.
Her signing comes on the back of an impressive performance last season, during which she played a pivotal role in Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ triumph in both the Women’s Premier League and the FA Cup during the 2022/23 season.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new chapter in her career, Owusu shared on social media, “I’m happy to announce my new journey at Al Hilal in the Saudi league. I’m grateful to God and the entire Ampem Darkoa Ladies management and teammates.”
Owusu joins fellow Ghanaian players Cynthia Konlan and former Black Queens captain Elizabeth Addo at the Saudi club.
The Saudi Women’s League is actively attracting top talent as part of the country’s efforts to develop women’s football.
