Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara has completed a move to Ethiopian Premier League side Mechal on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with the Ghanaian giants.
The 26-year-old Guinean shot-stopper has signed a one-year contract with the Addis Ababa-based club, where he will play under experienced Ethiopian coach Wubetu Abate.
Camara joined Asante Kotoko from Guinean outfit Soar Academy in July 2024 and spent two seasons with the Porcupine Warriors, establishing himself as one of the club’s dependable goalkeepers during his stay in the Ghana Premier League.
Known for his sharp reflexes, commanding presence in the penalty area and strong shot-stopping ability, Camara now embarks on a fresh challenge in Ethiopian football.
His arrival is expected to strengthen Mechal’s goalkeeping department as the club prepares for the 2026/27 Ethiopian Premier League season and aims to compete for domestic honours.
