Former Asante Kotoko striker Kalo Ouattara has made a surprise move to Iraqi Premier League side Maysan Sporting Club, just weeks after being released by the Ghanaian giants.
The 22-year-old forward was one of 21 players let go by the Porcupine Warriors as part of a massive clear-out.
Ouattara joined Asante Kotoko at the start of the recently-ended season from Berekum Chelsea, and despite featuring in 24 games, he could only manage to score four goals, including one in the final game of the season.
Despite his limited impact, Ouattara’s speed and agility had earned him a reputation as a promising young player, and it’s no surprise that he attracted interest from other clubs.
Maysan Sporting Club, who finished eighth in the Iraqi Premier League last season, will be hoping that Ouattara can bring a fresh spark to their attack.
