Ghanaian international, Kwame Opoku, has been successfully contacted and is reported to be in good condition following the devastating earthquake that rocked Morocco on Friday.
The former Asante Kotoko striker currently plays for Olympique Khouribga, the town club, which happens to be near the area where the earthquake in Morocco caused significant damage.
The earthquake, which affected parts of Marrakech, resulted in extensive damage to the renowned 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.
Morocco’s Interior Ministry reported that, in the provinces near the earthquake’s epicenter, at least 296 individuals lost their lives, and an additional 153 people were transported to hospitals for medical care.
The latest updates from Morocco indicate a rising death toll, with approximately 820 confirmed fatalities due to the earthquake.
