Former Bayern Munich striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has regained call-up into the Black Stars team for the crucial encounters against Nigeria in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Holstein Kiel attacker last involvement with the Black Stars was in 2021 against Sao Tome and Principe in the AFCON qualifiers in Ghana.

He has however been handed the opportunity to extend his international caps in the crucial games against Nigeria this Friday and next Tuesday.

He played his first game for Ghana in May of 2018 against Japan in an international friendly before grabbing his second cap against Iceland in a 2-2 draw the same year.

The striker grabbed 71 goals in Bayern Munich colours playing for the Bayern München II and also won the Bundesliga title before moving to join Dutch Eredivisie club Willem II this year.

The 27-year-old played 18 matches in the Dutch Eredivisie and scored four goals and provided two assists.

Ghana will face Nigeria in the first leg of the play off at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, March 25, while the second leg is scheduled for the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
