In the United States, there was a heartwarming reunion between former Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, and two ex-Dortmund stars, Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.
During their time at the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, Addo played a significant role in grooming both players. However, their paths diverged afterward, with Haaland leaving Dortmund last summer to join Manchester City, where he experienced immense success, winning the treble in his first season. On the other hand, Sancho signed for Manchester United two seasons ago.
Recently, the German-born Ghanaian trainer had the chance to catch up with the two talents as they reminisced about their time together before the pre-season friendly match between Manchester United and Dortmund. Addo was part of the technical team when Dortmund secured an exciting 3-2 victory over Manchester United in Las Vegas on a Monday morning.
Before his coaching stint, Otto Addo was a former player of Dortmund. Later on, he assumed the role of coaching the Black Stars during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, following Ghana’s exit from the tournament at the group stage, with one win and two defeats, he made the decision to step down from his coaching role.
