Ghanaian midfielder Anthony Annan has made a return to Germany by signing with lower-tier club Arminia Lirich.
Annan, who recently left Finnish side Inter Turku, has been engaged in training with the Oberhausen-based club over the past few weeks.
The 37-year-old veteran has chosen to finalize the deal after making a positive impression on Lirich’s coaching staff. They believe his extensive experience could greatly contribute to their pursuit of promotion.
Notably, Annan participated in the 2010 World Cup and previously spent three years in the Bundesliga, representing Schalke from 2011 to 2014. During this period, he made a limited 14 appearances for the Gelsenkirchen side.
While at Schalke, he was loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem and Osasuna as well.
