Ghana and former Dreams FC captain, Michael Agbekpornu has expressed his commitment to his new club, NK Slaven Belupo.
After departing Albanian side KF Egnatia, the former Dreams FC star completed a move to the Croatian top-flight team, signing a three-year contract until 2026.
Agbekpornu is eager to make an impact at Slaven Belupo and views the Croatian league as a challenging but rewarding opportunity for his career.
“I have taken a step forward in my career, and I look at Slaven Belupo as a great ‘springboard’ for the future. I know how strong the Croatian league is and how much work awaits us, but I believe that my new teammates and I can achieve our goals.
The enterprising midfielder promises to give his all during the matches, aiming to deliver quality performances that will benefit the team.
“What I can promise is that you will see from me that I give everything I have for the whole 90 minutes, and I hope that quality presentations will come from that. I am looking forward to the start of the championship, and I can’t wait for everything to start.” Agbekpornu said after signing the contract.
Agbekpornu’s impressive performances for Egnatia during the 2022/23 season caught the attention of Slaven Belupo, leading to his move to Croatia.
During his time at Egnatia, Agbekpornu made 26 appearances, scoring once, and providing an assist. His contributions helped Egnatia secure a third-place finish in the Albanian League and win the Albanian Cup for the first time in their history.
Having left a mark at Egnatia, Agbekpornu now looks forward to making a positive impact at Slaven Belupo in the upcoming season.
