After a six-year absence, Okwawu United has successfully qualified for the national first division championship, showcasing their prowess in the ongoing 2023 Eastern Regional Division Two Middle League.

In a remarkable display of skill, the ‘Asaase Aban’ team sealed their qualification with an impressive 3-1 victory over B.S Pelicans FC on Wednesday at the Kibi Astro Turf.

Their path to qualification has been outstanding, securing four consecutive wins in their opening four matches. Their campaign kicked off with a commanding 5-0 triumph over Right to Dream Academy, followed by a convincing 4-1 victory over Super FC and a hard-fought 2-1 win against Kwaebibirem United.

Currently leading the Socaloca ERFA second division league with a perfect record of 12 points, Okwawu United has showcased their determination and skill on the field.

Now back in the country’s second-tier league, Okwawu United aims to solidify their presence and ultimately work towards earning promotion back to the Ghana Premier League. Their successful qualification is a testament to their dedication and the team’s ambitions for future success in Ghanaian football.
