Francis Andy Kumi, former Asante Kotoko striker, has made a surprising move by signing with Medeama SC, the Ghanaian champions, ahead of the upcoming season.
The transfer comes as a significant blow to Hearts of Oak, who were on the verge of securing Kumi’s signature just 48 hours earlier.
The 26-year-old forward has been on the move since his departure from Serbian side FK Radniki Nis last season, where he was the top scorer despite his team’s relegation.
His impressive performance earned him a brief stint with OFK Vrsac in Serbia before returning to Ghana as a free agent.
Kumi’s previous stint saw him score nine goals for Kotoku Royals in the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season before moving to Serbia.
He had a short spell at Bechem United when he left Kotoko in August 2022 before signing for Royals in January 2023.
