Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has set a new financial benchmark in Rwandan football, emerging as the highest-paid player in the Rwanda Premier League.

The Ghanaian midfielder, who joined APR FC, earns an impressive annual salary of $120,000, making him the league’s top earner.

Lamptey’s move to Rwanda followed an impressive spell with Asante Kotoko, where he was a key figure in the midfield and helped the club secure the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021/22 season.

Since joining APR FC, Lamptey has continued to showcase his quality, becoming an integral part of the squad as the club pushes for domestic dominance and continental success. His lucrative contract underscores his value and highlights the growing financial investment in Rwandan football.

With his leadership experience and technical ability, Lamptey is expected to play a crucial role in APR FC’s pursuit of silverware, as they aim to maintain their dominance in the league and make a strong impact in continental competitions.
