Former Asante Kotoko defender Habib Mohammed has officially sealed a move to Iraqi outfit Al Naft SC, continuing his career in the Middle East.

The 28-year-old centre-back completed the transfer from domestic rivals Al Hashd during the current transfer window, with Al Naft confirming his arrival in an official announcement.

Mohammed brings a wealth of experience to his new club, having featured across several leagues in Africa, including stints in Ghana, South Africa, and Ethiopia. Al Naft believe his pedigree and versatility will be vital as they push through the second half of the season.

Announcing the signing, the club highlighted his strong performances at Al Hashd, describing him as a reliable and commanding defender capable of strengthening their backline.

Before his move to Iraq, Mohammed played for Ashanti Gold and Asante Kotoko in Ghana, before relocating to South Africa to join Sekhukhune United. He later featured prominently in Ethiopia with Adama Katema and Fasil Kenema, further enhancing his reputation as a seasoned campaigner.
