The race for the NASCO Player of the Month award for March promises to be intense, as four standout performers are in contention following impressive displays in the Ghana Premier League.
Among the nominees are Stephen Amankona, Yaw Annor, Kwesi Pong, and Kelvin Obeng—all of whom delivered key performances for their respective clubs during the month.
Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea has emerged as a dark horse in the competition. With four goals in just three games, including a brilliant hat-trick against Accra Lions, his name has quickly gained attention. His efforts also earned him a NASCO Player of the Match award, boosting his chances of claiming the monthly honor.
Yaw Annor, representing Bechem United, has also been influential, scoring two goals in four appearances. Like Amankona, he too received a NASCO Player of the Match award, and his consistency and knack for finding the net at important moments make him a serious contender.
Heart of Lions’ Kwesi Pong adds another layer of competition. He registered two goals in three games and picked up a NASCO Player of the Match award for his efforts. Pong’s impact has been notable, as he continues to prove his worth in front of goal.
Completing the shortlist is Aduana FC’s Kelvin Obeng, who also scored twice in four matches. With one NASCO Player of the Match award to his name, Obeng’s experience and ability to deliver under pressure keep him firmly in the mix for the prize.
The winner will receive a brand-new 43-inch NASCO television, sponsored by Electroland Ghana Limited. The Ghana Football Association is expected to reveal the winner in the coming days.
