Francis Amuzu opened his account in Brazil’s top flight with a fine goal as Grêmio secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Vitória at the Arena do Grêmio.
The 26-year-old winger made his mark in the 54th minute, intelligently drifting into space at the far post to latch onto a pinpoint delivery from Weverton before calmly finishing to double his side’s lead.
Grêmio had earlier taken control of the contest in the first half when Vitória defender Camutanga inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure after 27 minutes.
From that point, Renato Portaluppi’s side dictated the tempo, keeping Vitória at bay while posing a constant threat on the counterattack, with Amuzu particularly influential down the flank.
The goal caps an encouraging start to the 2026 Serie A campaign for Amuzu, who has now made six league appearances, registering one goal and two assists for the Porto Alegre-based club.
The result keeps Grêmio firmly in contention in the top half of the table as they prepare for a challenging away fixture against Vasco da Gama on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
