Legon Cities coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin, expressed his admiration for young talent Frank Antwi, who delivered an exceptional performance by scoring a brace in their comeback victory against Karela United on the opening day of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
Antwi’s two goals in the second half were crucial in securing all three points for the home team, despite their initial shock in the first half when Karela United took the lead.
Fabin acknowledged his team’s strong start to the game and praised their organization. He also commended the players for their first-half performance and urged them to approach the second half with confidence and urgency.
“We played well. The organization was good. We were unlucky to go down after a brilliant start. I told the boys in the dressing room, I am proud of their first half performance but let’s go again in the second half with more confidence and urgency,” said Fabin after the game.
Speaking specifically about Frank Antwi, Fabin described him as a genuine talent with a bright future in the sport. He emphasized that this is just the beginning for Antwi and encouraged him to take each game as it comes.
“Frank Antwi is a real talent and he will go far. This is just the beginning, let’s take it game after game,” he added.
Legon Cities’ next challenge will be a regional derby against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, where they will look to build on their successful start to the season.
