Ligue 1 side FC Metz are on the verge of completing the signing of Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe from Swedish top-flight club Elfsborg, according to reports.
The 24-year-old centre-back, who stands at 1.95m, is currently undergoing his medicals ahead of finalising the deal. Metz, who sit bottom of the French top flight, have reached an agreement with Elfsborg worth €3 million, with an additional €1 million in performance-related bonuses.
Yegbe, capped once for Ghana, brings both physical presence and continental experience. Last season, he featured in Elfsborg’s European campaign, playing against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Athletic Bilbao, and OGC Nice.
This season, the towering defender has already made 18 league appearances in Sweden, contributing one goal and one assist, underlining his ability to impact both defensively and offensively.
Metz view Yegbe’s arrival as a major boost as they look to shore up their backline and revive their season in Ligue 1.
