Head coach Frimpong Manso has backed Nations FC to overcome Aduana Stars in what he believes will be an exciting and closely contested MTN FA Cup semi-final clash.
The Abrankese-based side secured their place in the last four after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Berekum Chelsea, following a fiercely fought encounter that ended level in regulation time.
Speaking after the quarter-final triumph, Manso admitted that the upcoming fixture presents a tough challenge but remains confident in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
“Yeah, that is about a month away, so we just relax and concentrate on our last and next game, which is against Kotoko, but we know Aduana to be a strong side,” he said in an interview with Nations FC TV.
The experienced coach also highlighted the balanced nature of the contest, pointing to the results from their previous meetings this season as evidence that either side could come out on top.
“We’ve played against them home and away. We won in Ahenema Kokoben. They also won in Dormaa, so yes, it’s going to be an interesting game,” Manso added.
With the semi-final scheduled for April, Nations FC will temporarily shift their focus back to the Ghana Premier League, where they face a crucial Week 26 clash against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, March 22.
As preparations continue, Manso and his players will be aiming to maintain momentum and confidence, knowing that a strong run of form could prove decisive ahead of their high-stakes FA Cup showdown.
