Asante Kotoko recorded a 1-0 win over arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday in Week 24 of the Ghana Premier League as Cameroonian striker Franck Etouga Mbella scored the only goal of the game from the spot.
Etouga registered his sixteenth goal of the league season when he converted from the spot in the 17th minute after Nurudeen Abdul Aziz was adjudged to have fouled Fabio Gama in the area.
The win keeps the eight-point gap between league leaders Kotoko (52points) and second-placed Bechem United who are on 44 points after Week 24.
