The former Malmo FF star has extended goodwill wishes to the Black Stars of Ghana “in their second group C game against Gabon tonight.

The Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat to Morocco in their opening fixture and will need a win over Aubameyang’s Gabon later tonight to keep them in the competition.

Ghana will go into the tournament looking to end a 40-year wait for yet another AFCON trophy.

Having lost the opening game, the Olympiakos Nicosia captain who featured two times for the Black Stars, has urged the team to go for victory in the crucial tie.

The Black Stars last won the trophy in 1982, where they beat host nation Libya on penalties.

Ghana 🇬🇭 lineup vs Gabon:

Andy Kyereh Yiadom
Daniel Amartey
Alexander Djiku
Abdul Rahman Baba
Thomas Partey
Baba Iddrisu
Daniel-Kofi Kyereh
Jordan Ayew

Andre Ayew (C)

Since then, the West African side has managed three final appearances, falling short on each occasion – the recent 2015 loss to Ivory Coast on penalty shootout.
