George Boateng, a respected former Ghanaian footballer and current football pundit, was on Sky Sports duty during the second leg of the Championship semi-final play-offs. After the final whistle, he met a very excited Salis Samed, who was overjoyed as Sunderland secured a place in the play-off final.

Sunderland’s journey has been impressive, and now they are just one win away from returning to the English Premier League. They will face Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final on the 24th of this month. The match promises to be intense, as both teams are dreaming of a return to the top flight.

A return to the Premier League would be a proud moment for Sunderland, a club that once had two popular Ghanaian stars — Asamoah Gyan and John Mensah. Both players made a big impact during their time with the club and are still remembered fondly by fans.

Now, Salis Samed and the rest of the squad have the chance to bring back those exciting Premier League days. The entire Sunderland fanbase will be hoping for a victory in the final and a return to the top tier of English football.
