German club SSV Jeddeloh have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Said Abbey just before the transfer deadline.

The 21-year-old player joins the club after signing a one and a half years.

Said Abbey comes from Ammerland and was trained in football at SV Werder Bremen. He also gained experience in the Oberliga and Regionalliga with Kickers Emden. An injury recently slowed his development, but Abbey has now fully recovered and will soon join team training.

SSV Sporting director Olaf Blancke is pleased with the signing: ‘Said is a player we have had our eye on for some time. He fits very well with our approach of focusing specifically on young players from the region. We are convinced that he can help us with his dynamism and skills.’ Sports manager Florian Bönsch is also looking forward to the new addition: ‘We have known Said for some time and have been closely following his career. For us, this is a very fitting last-minute signing.’‘

The new arrival looks forward to the new challenge with great anticipation: ‘I am very excited about the opportunity at SSV Jeddeloh II. I come from the region and am happy to be closer to my family again. After my injury, I am fit again and want to help the team on the pitch as quickly as possible.’
