German top-flight side VfL Bochum have initiated discussions to sign Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi from Swiss club St Gallen.
Initial meetings have taken place, with Bild newspaper reporting that a fourth meeting could occur in the coming days.
VfL Bochum aims to secure at least one new goalkeeper as Andreas Luthe and Michael Esser are set to leave the club.
Additionally, regular goalkeeper Manuel Riemann, 35, is nearing the end of his contract, which expires after the upcoming season.
Zigi made a whopping 41 appearances for St Gallen in the Swiss Super League in the just ended season helping them secure a slot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Bochum coach Gerardo Zeidler has a history with Ati Zigi, having worked together at Liefering, Sochaux, and St Gallen.
Meanwhile, Ati Zigi is currently with the Ghana national team, preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
