Newly appointed Asante Kotoko Technical Director and interim head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has acknowledged the challenges ahead as he takes charge of the team following the departure of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Zito, a veteran coach and former Ghana U-20 boss, returns to the Porcupine Warriors at a crucial juncture in the season, with the club seeking to recover from a dip in form that has seen them slide to fourth on the Ghana Premier League table.
During his unveiling, Zito remained optimistic about the team’s chances of turning things around, stating:
“Getting back to the top of the table is difficult but not impossible, and it’s never over until the end.”
His appointment is seen as a move to bring stability and renewed focus to Kotoko’s campaign as they look to reignite their title hopes. The team has struggled with consistency in recent weeks, leading to back-to-back defeats and growing pressure on the technical bench.
Zito’s first major task will be preparing Kotoko for their upcoming fixture against Aduana Stars, a critical encounter that could significantly influence the direction of their season.
With his vast experience and a clear message of belief, Zito is expected to rally the team and restore confidence as the Porcupine Warriors aim for a strong finish in the league.
