The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has affirmed its commitment to extend financial assistance to the clubs representing the country in continental competitions during the upcoming season.
During the inauguration of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season on Tuesday, August 29, the GFA unveiled a substantial $70,000 financial backing earmarked for these clubs.
For the initial phase of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup, each of the participating clubs will receive $35,000 as financial support.
Furthermore, an additional $35,000 will be allocated to each of the two clubs that progress to the subsequent round of the competitions.
Meanwhile, the champions of the Women’s Premier League will also benefit from a $35,000 assistance package to bolster their campaign in the WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Alongside these provisions, the GFA unveiled an impressive GHS500,000 as the prize fund for the forthcoming league season in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
With the conclusion of the league season, the second and third-ranking clubs will receive GHS200,000 and GHS100,000, respectively, as acknowledgment of their performance.
