The committee assigned with the crucial task of selecting a new Head Coach for the Black Stars has officially declared Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:59 pm as the ultimate deadline for prospective applicants.
Led by GFA Vice President Mark Addo, the five-member committee, appointed by the GFA Executive Committee, has been entrusted with the responsibility of identifying a suitable and competent coach to lead the Senior Men’s National Team (Black Stars). The directive includes considering coaches who may not apply but are deemed worthy candidates.
Interested coaches aspiring to guide the Black Stars are reminded by the Search Committee to submit their applications, comprising curriculum vitae or resume and mission statement, to the email address: recruitment@ghanafa.org before the specified deadline.
Job Description – Head Coach
The Head Coach’s role encompasses the comprehensive management of the Senior Men’s National Team, involving player selection, tactical planning for training and games, and overall performance enhancement of the Black Stars.
Responsibilities include steering the general technical direction and supervision of the team, capacity building of the Technical Team, staying updated on football tactics and development trends, and aligning with or complementing the GFA’s DNA in football philosophy.
Collaboration with the Technical Directorate to identify and develop young talents, scouting new talent for the national team (both domestically and internationally), and media engagements such as squad announcements and pre/post-match interviews are also part of the Head Coach’s duties.
Qualifications
The prospective Head Coach should be an established winner with experience in coaching Top Men’s National Teams or Club Football. Holding the highest football license globally and possessing 15 years of football experience is mandatory.
A proven track record in team reconstruction, organization, and the development of young talent, coupled with strong leadership skills and a disciplined tactical approach, are essential qualifications for the role.
