Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has commended the Black Princesses, Ghana’s women’s under-20 national team, for their outstanding achievement in clinching the gold medal at the 13th African Games women’s tournament.
Expressing his pride and support, Okraku shared a tweet from the official Ghana women’s national team’s page, accompanied by three Ghana flag emojis.
His gesture followed the Black Princesses’ thrilling 2-1 victory over Nigeria in extra time at the vibrant Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday.
In a closely contested match, Nigeria initially took the lead in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on an error by Ghanaian goalkeeper Afi Amenyeku. However, displaying resilience and determination, the Black Princesses rallied back, with Tracey Twum and Mukarama Abdulai netting crucial goals in the 78th and 90+9 minutes, respectively.
The Black Princesses concluded their campaign at the ongoing 13th African Games with an impeccable unbeaten record, solidifying their status as champions on the continental stage.
