GFA impose GHc80,000 fine on Asante Kotoko for destroying properties at Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, other players charged

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has imposed a fine of GHc80,000 on Asante Kotoko SC for breaching Article 16(c) and Article 16(2)(f) of the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019 in their Premier League match  Matchday 6 game against Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

The GFA Prosecutors charged Asante Kotoko SC for the misconduct following which the club pleaded Not Guilty to the charges.

However, per evidence adduced from the the video recording of the said match and the reports of the match officials, Asante Kotoko SC was found guilty of the charges by the Disciplinary Committee.

In the decision of the Committee which has been communicated to the Club, the total fine shall be given to Nations FC to repair the damage caused to the Stadium including the broken seats.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee has adjudicated and sanctioned various Clubs, Team Officials and players for various misconduct offenses:

  1. Issah Amadu (in the match against Nations FC)
  2. Sheriff Mohammed (in the match against Nations FC)
  3. Bechem United FC (in the match against Nsoatreman FC)
  4. Bechem United FC (in the match against Medeama SC)
  5. Berekum Chelsea FC (in the match against Bibiani Goldstars)
  6. Bibiani Goldstars (in the match against Hearts of Oak SC)
  7. Asante Kotoko SC (in the match against Karela FC
  8. Bibiani Goldstars FC(in the match against Heart of Lions FC)
  9. Appiah MacCarthy (in the match against Hearts of Oak SC)
  10. Aduana FC (in the match against Great Olympics)
  11. Dreams FC (in the match against Medeama SC)
  12. Karela FC (in the match against Bofoakwa Tano FC)
  13. Nations FC (in the match against Asante Kotoko SC)
  14. Nsoatreman FC (in the match against Legon Cities FC)
  15. Nsoatreman FC (in the match against Bechem United FC)
  16. RTU FC (in the match against Heart of Lions FC
