The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched a pilot partnership with Wilsad Support Limited, granting the company exclusive radio broadcasting rights for select domestic football competitions in the country.
As part of this trial initiative, Wilsad Support Limited will take charge of live radio coverage for matches in the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, and the Women’s Premier League.
The goal is to assess how centralized radio rights management can improve the overall consistency and professionalism of football commentaries across the country.
This partnership reflects the GFA’s wider ambition to protect and commercialize its media assets while expanding access to high-quality broadcasts for football fans throughout Ghana. It also represents a key step toward modernizing the delivery of domestic football content, particularly for radio audiences.
By collaborating with Wilsad Support Limited, the GFA hopes to set a new standard for radio coverage of local football and create a model for future broadcast agreements.
The outcomes of the pilot phase will be closely evaluated to help shape long-term strategies for the development of radio broadcasting within the Ghanaian football ecosystem.
