Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku delivered an insightful address in Cairo during a key meeting with CAF President Patrice Motsepe and WAFU Zone B leaders ahead of CAF’s 14th Extraordinary General Assembly.
His speech highlighted the zone’s recent achievements and its ambitious roadmap for the future.
Among the key accomplishments was the successful execution of two critical training programs. These initiatives focused on enhancing communication strategies for football affairs and reinforcing the zone’s operational protocols. The programs have significantly improved communication efficiency, raised operational standards, and laid a strong foundation for professionalism within WAFU Zone B.
President Okraku acknowledged the Executive Director’s dedication and investment in talent development, recognizing his contributions as instrumental in advancing the zone’s progress. Strong leadership has been a driving force behind an administrative overhaul within WAFU-B, leading to more streamlined operations, improved collaboration, and innovative management approaches.
The injection of diverse expertise into the Secretariat has fostered closer cooperation among member associations, ensuring that the unique needs of each federation are effectively addressed. This strategic approach has strengthened cohesion across the region’s football ecosystem.
WAFU Zone B remains committed to unity and collective progress, reinforcing a spirit of collaboration that benefits the entire football structure of the region. A key priority for the organization is the continuous development of human capacity, emphasizing skill-building and professional growth.
Believing that human resources are its greatest asset, WAFU-B has invested heavily in training programs and workshops aimed at professionalizing its personnel. Only time will determine the long-term impact of these investments, but they align with the zone’s broader vision of sustaining football excellence in the region.
