Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku led the Black Stars technical team on a working visit to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams, on Monday, March 3, 2025.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the GFA President to formally introduce members of the revamped Black Stars technical team and emphasize the need for government support and collaboration ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Discussions focused on the team’s preparations for the upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar and the role of government in ensuring a smooth and successful qualifying campaign.
President Simeon-Okraku expressed confidence in the technical team, led by head coach Otto Addo, to deliver positive results for Ghana. Also in attendance were assistant coach Desmond Ofei and GFA Director of Football and Black Stars technical advisor Winfried Schäfer, who engaged in discussions on matters of mutual interest.
He assured the Minister of the GFA’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the government to ensure the continued development of football in Ghana.
The Black Stars will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 17 before traveling to Morocco to play Madagascar in the World Cup qualifiers. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
