In a decisive move, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has marked September 1, 2024, for the eagerly anticipated Champion of Champions clash, marking the grand inauguration of the forthcoming 2024/25 Premier League season.
According to the Premier League Regulations (Article 9), the singular match will pit the reigning 2023-24 Premier League champions against the triumphant MTN FA Cup victors.
Last year, Medeama Sporting Club clinched the prestigious title by outmaneuvering Dreams FC with a resounding 2-1 victory at the Cape Coast Stadium on September 3, 2023.
Jonathan Sowah’s remarkable brace secured the coveted Super Cup for the Mauve and Yellow, while Dreams FC managed a consolation goal courtesy of Agyenim Boateng.
