The Ghana Football Association have warned players to renew contracts at their local clubs or risk being removed from the Black Galaxies squad ahead of the 2023 CHAN tournament, new.sportsworldghana.com understands.
The Black Galaxies qualified for the CHAN after beating Nigeria on penalties earlier this year and have been drawn in Group C.
But some players could miss out on the final squad as they are yet to renew their contracts with their clubs, according to sports journalist Asante Forkuo.
One of those players is Daniel Afriyie Barnieh whose contract is close to expiring with Hearts of Oak.
The CHAN tournament is expected to start on January 15 in 2023.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo, has denied any such action by the leadership of the country’s football governing body.
